Communication Tools

Primary Communication: BAND App

Why BAND matters: This is where you'll get the most current updates, schedule changes, and important announcements. When something changes, you'll know right away.

How to join:

  1. Download the BAND app from your app store (iOS or Android)

  2. Create your account using your name/phone, email, Facebook, or Google account

  3. Join your group:

What you'll receive:

  • Weekly updates from directors

  • Schedule change notifications  

  • Important reminders and announcements

  • Direct communication when needed

Payment & Financial Tools

PRESTO Assistant

Your payment and information hub: PRESTO handles band fees, maintains student records, and serves as our primary database for family communication.

Getting started:

  1. Create your account: Visit [PRESTO signup](https://app.presto-assistant.com/signup)

  2. Choose "Parent" as your role

  3. Enter the organization code provided by directors

  4. Wait for director approval - this usually happens within 24 hours

  5. Complete your profile with current contact information

What PRESTO does for your family:

  • Secure payment processing for all band fees

  • Access to your student's records and information

  • Email communication from directors

  • Fee tracking and payment history

Private Lessons

An investment in your student's musical growth: Private lessons provide individualized instruction that accelerates learning and builds confidence. While highly encouraged for all students, they're required for Wind Ensemble participants.

Program Details

  • Cost: $22 per half-hour lesson

  • Scheduling: Once weekly during band class, before school, or after school

  • Instructors: Professional musicians selected and approved by BISD Fine Arts Department

  • Required: Annual BISD Private Lesson Consent Form

Scholarship Support

We believe every student should have access to private lessons. Birdville Band Boosters, Inc. offer half-scholarships ($11 per lesson) based on need and student commitment.

Scholarship criteria:

  • Maintain 85+ average in band

  • Maintain passing grades in all classes  

  • Attend all required band events

  • Demonstrate good citizenship

Getting Started

  1. Choose your instructor from the approved list below

  2. Complete scholarship application (if applying for financial assistance)

  3. Submit consent form through school registration

  4. Contact instructor directly to arrange scheduling
