About Our Program
The Birdville High School Band program is a Texas UIL Class 5A program located in North Richland Hills, TX (north of Fort Worth) within the Birdville Independent School District. Serving students in grades 9-12, our comprehensive music education program was established in 1999 and has grown to include over 200 students across multiple ensembles and performance opportunities.
The Mighty Hawk Marching Band and our concert ensembles have achieved consistent excellence, earning many 1st Division Sweepstakes awards and competing at both state and national levels in UIL and Bands of America competitions.
Programs Offered
Mighty Hawk Marching Band
All band students participate during fall semester
PE credit awarded for participation
8 hours per week rehearsal outside school day

For Prospective Students & Families
Time Commitment
Students participate in daily band class plus additional rehearsals as needed. Marching band requires 8 hours per week outside school day during fall semester, with mandatory summer training camps.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are required for Wind Ensemble students and highly encouraged for all others. Lessons are available through our district-approved instructor program, with financial assistance available through our booster organization.
Getting Started
New students are welcome at all skill levels. Students are placed in ensembles through auditions based on their current ability. Contact our directors for audition information and ensemble placement.
Academic Integration
Band students maintain strong academic performance while developing musical skills. Our program emphasizes time management, discipline, and leadership skills that benefit students in all areas of study.
